I'd like to see Adam ruin the misconception that bright lights at night make us safer. They don't. White lights dont help ID cars better than yellow sodium lights. Losing darkness is bad for our bodies and for wild animals.
Shielding, lowering, and aiming lights help. So does using fewer dimmer lights, and using smart street lights that turn on when needed. Money saved in not wasting power would be significant.
What do electricity providers have to say about nighttime load management and generator operations and maintenance?
