Simon Cole is an associate professor of criminology, law, and society at the University of California, Irvine. He is the author of Suspect Identities: A History of Fingerprinting and Criminal Identification and numerous articles about fingerprinting, and he has testified as an expert witness on the validity of fingerprint identification. He is member of the American Judicature Society’s Commission on Forensic Science and Public Policy. He made his appearance as himself in Adam Ruins Forensic Science.
